February 6, 2018

Well now that we have made it to the end of January and will  be entering the chilliest month of the year,  also known as the shortest month. We don't know if we'll get sick or stay healthy. What we do know is that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance. What better way to celebrate this romantic month with your significant other having an acupuncture session. My personal opinion, why not treat you & your significant other every other day throughout the entire year? Why just wait for Valentines day? But that's not of any importance right now, what is important is the  vivacity that February brings to the space in our upper chest, that holds the heart. Around the traditional time of Valentine's day, why not take...

If you have already decided that you're interested in having an acupuncture treatment. There numerous things you  can do all after an acupuncture treatment,  in order to augment the benefits and hasten the results.

Tip #1 Don't eat a big meal before the treatment, but don't starve yourself either.

Before having an acupuncture treatment it is recommended for you to have a light meal 30 mins before the session. If you eat your belly will be trying to process the large meal and so it will be uncomfortable when lying on the table. Receiving treatment during digestion,  will keep most your energy in your belly area.  This means that the treatment will have no effect. Now its not recommended to go to your appointmen...

What is Sciatica?

What is Sciatica? Well Sciatica is when pressure on sciatic nerve causes a type of radiating pain.  Usually it is caused when when a herniate disk or bone spur in the spine presses on the nerve. The pain tends to  originate in the spine and radiate down the back of the leg. Sciatica is more likely to affect only one side of the body. If we go in depth, Sciatica tends to affect only one side of the lower body. The  pain manages to extend from the lower back throughout the back of the thigh and down along the leg. Sometimes the pain may also extend to the foot or toes, usually it depends  where the sciatic nerve is affected. Additionally, other  common causes of sciatica also include: Lumbar spinal stenosis. Cupping was developed thousands of years ago and though the techniques have modernized, the original philosophy remains the same.

If you watched the Olympics, and you saw athletes like Micheal Phelps with some obvious round cupping marks on his back, you probably wondered... What are those!?!? When you get a massage, pressure is applied to your muscles. When it comes to cupping, instead of  applying pressure to the muscles, the suction uses pressure to pull the skin, the...
