Acupuncture is known to amend the body’s functions and it helps promote the natural self-healing process. It stimulates specific anatomic sites which are referred to as commonly acupuncture points, (acupoints).






One of the most prevalent methods used to stimulate acupoints is the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin. Pressure, heat, or electrical stimulation may further enhance the effects.




Some other acupoint stimulation techniques include: moxibustion, heat therapy or, manual massages cupping, and the application of herbal medicines
