Health Benefits of Acupuncture

Ever felt discomfort? Ever felt like you couldn't sleep for days? have you been diagnosed with anxiety or depression? Do you have any chronic pain or postoperative pain?

For thousands of years Acupuncture has been used to promote well-being and treat illness.  In Oriental Medicine, health is believed to result from the free flow of energy.  Illness can result when this energy, known as Qi, is blocked along pathways in the body.

 Acupuncture is known to relief anxiety, depression, arthritis , migraine, obesity,

postoperative pain, insomnia etc...It is the insertion of thin needles at various points on the body can restore the smooth flow of Qi, treating both the symptoms and the underlying causes of many illnesses. There are many of other potential health benefits being researched as well. The research for these effects of acupuncture in all of its forms has been somewhat limited but continues at this time. Many including asthma, drug addiction, epilepsy, Irritable Bowel Syndrome, schizophrenia, tennis elbow and many more.

 

 

 

Acupuncture is known to  amend the body’s functions and it helps promote the natural self-healing process.  It stimulates specific anatomic sites which are referred to as commonly acupuncture points, (acupoints). 

 

 

 

 

 

 

One of the most prevalent methods used to stimulate acupoints is the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin. Pressure, heat, or electrical stimulation may further enhance the effects.

 

 

 

 

Some other acupoint stimulation techniques include: moxibustion, heat therapy or, manual massages cupping, and the application of  herbal medicines
